No. 1814: Daniel Dawson (age 21) to Catherine Kellam (age 18) License issued this day to join in marriage Daniel Dawson and Catherine Kellam upon the application of William Jump and the consent of her father, Thomas Kellam, February 9, 1832. Thereby certify that the Rites of Marriage between Daniel Dawson & Catherine Kellam were celebrated on the 9th of February 1832 by Robert B. Dobbins, V.D.M.

Notes: "Upon the application of William Jump" meant William Jump was a "groom's witness" and performed the function of swearing to the truth of the age of the groom. "Consent of the her father" meant Catherine Kellam was underage and had to obtain the consent of her father to marry Daniel Dawson.

Notes: Elizabeth Dawson, d/o Daniel & Catherine Dawson, was not on the 1850 Census because she had married William Albert Wilson on 26 Feb 1850 in Brown Co Ohio. Elizabeth Dawson Wilson was b. 14 May 1834 in Ohio, d. 12 Oct 1853 in Feesburg, Brown Co, Ohio.

Minister's Bond 11 day of April 1873: Daniel Dawson, Solemnize Matrimony. "Daniel Dawson having adduced satisfactory proof to the Court that he is a minister in good standing in regular communion with the Christian Union Church, it is ordered that he be granted license to solemnize the Rites of Matrimony in this State between person legally applying to him, therefore, the said Daniel Dawson tok the oath required by law & entered into & executed Bond to the Commonwealth of Kentucky with Thomas C. Redden as his surety conditioned according to law which is approved by the Court.
