From Ellen Redden Dawson (1837-1921), Civil War belle, to her daughters, Mary Belle Dawson Gosney (1861-1941) & Minnie Jane Dawson Spaulding (1874-1955), Dawson women were notable for beauty, intelligence, and strength of character. The Robert Gosneys removed to Miller Co, Missouri, from Campbell Co, Ky.
