Isaac & Sophia Jump to Thomas & Sarah Dawson "White Hall" from Dec 24, 1767 to Feb 2, 1768:

The following deed was recorded the second day of February Anno Dom seventeen hundred & sixty eight.This Indenture made this 24th day of December 1767 by & between Isaac Jump & Sophia his wife of Queen Anne County & Province of Maryland of one part & Thomas Dawson of Dorchester County & Province of the other part. Witnesseth that said Isaac Jump & Sophia his wife for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds current money of this Province to them in hand paid by the afs Thomas Dawson before the unsealing & delivering of these presents...Isaac Jump & Sophia his wife do hererby ackn. to said Thomas Dawson his heirs & adm...all that tract and parcel of land called "White Hall" lying in Dorchester Co upon the west side of a branch that is called Marshahope Branch that issueth out of Nanticoke River beginning at a marked poplar that stands in a neck called Marshahope Neck then runs n. 52 degrees e. one 160 perches then n.n.w. 50 perches then s. 52 degrees w. 175 perches with a direct line to the begining tree, containing 50 a. of land more or less. Isaac Jump & Sophia his wife hath hereunto set out hands and seals the day & year abv.

Signed Isaac Jump (seal) and Sophia Jump (seal) Witnessed by Robert Polk & Thomas White December 24th 1767. Then rec'd of Thomas Dawson the sum of fifty pounds current money in full satisfaction for the land within mentioned, Isaac Jump delivered to Thomas Dawson.

Recorded January 18, 1768 of Thomas Dawson two shillings sterling for alienation fine due his Lordship on the within mentioned lands called White Hall 50 a. Clerk of Court.

7 March 1783: John Nutter Dor Co bound to Wm Macknat Dor Co for 40 pounds on 20 Jan 1746/7. To convey tract "Cow Pasture" on head of Northwest Fork of Nanticoke to be conveyed to Wm Macknat. Moses Ratledge & Ann Ratledge assigned right of bond to Thomas Dawson. Wts: John Pierce, Daniel Benson. Thomas Dawson assigned his right to bond to Zabdiel Dawson. 7 Mar 1783. (b) Thomas Dawson (Jr.) Sussex Co DE Deed from Joseph Godwin dated 7 May 1783:

7 May 1783: Deed. Thomas Dawson, Sussex Co yeoman, from Joseph Godwin, adm. of Zachariah Nicols, deceased, of Sussex Co Del. Joseph Godwin sold a piece of land of the deceased lying in Northwest Fork Hundred, being part of a tract taken up by Marmaduke Storey Sr. surveyed by Wm Killian Esq. on 6th Feb 1752 by Proprietary order of Penn. dated 20 Nov 1750, bought by Zachariah Nicols as appear on Bond of Conveyance dated 11 Apr 1758. Land located near Marshahope Bridge and sold at public auction for 50 pds 5 shillings for 53 a. Wit: Wm Polk, John Laws. Ackn. 7 May 1783. [Sussex Co Del. Deed Bk M-12:508]

(c) Thomas Dawson (Jr.) Sussex Co DE Deed from Thomas & *Ann Dawson to Abnor Dill 8 Jan 1787:

8 Jan 1787: *Abnor Dill, Kent Co, taylor, from Thomas Dawson, Sussex planter, and *Ann Dawson, his wife, for 50 pds. 5 shillings,  part of tract sold by Joseph Godwin to Thomas Dawson by deed dated 7 May 1783, recorded in Liber M-12 f. 508, tract near Marshyhope Bridge. 33 a. Transfer of "White Hall" in Kent County Del. by Heirs of Isaac Jump to Asa Dawson 1792:

This indenture made this 17th day of November 1792, between Sophia Jump, executrix of Isaac Jump, deceased, Olive Jump, Mary Jump his wife, and *Ann Dawson, heirs of Isaac Jump, all of Sussex County Delaware, and all of one part, and Asa Dawson, Sussex Co planter, of the other part.

Whereas the afsd. Isaac Jump in his lifetime, by virtue of a warrant to him granted bearing date 27th of November 1754, did partially secure unto himself a tract or parcel of land situated in the Forest of Mispillion Hundred in the County of Kent Delaware on the s.e. side of the Marshyhope Branch of the Nanticoke River adjoining land now the property of *Abner Dill.

Which land according to the certificate number in the land office at Philadelphia is meted & bounded as follows:Nwfrkmap.jpg (148493 bytes)Beginning at a marked white oak a corner of Isaac W. Carrills land, then runs n. 35 degrees west forty perches, to near a marked hickory, then north 86 degrees and a half degree west sixty-two perches & one half a perch to a Spanish oak by the edge of the Marsh, then s. 60 degrees & one third of a degree west forty-one perches & three fourths of a perch and south 37 degrees & three-fourths of a degree west one hundred & six perches and one fifth of a perch, to a white oak on the edge of the Marsh, then s. 16 degrees west forty perches to a corner of a tract of said Isaac Jump's land called "White Hall," then with the line of the afs.   n. 52 degrees est one hundred & seventhy-five perches to a stake, then with the afsd. "White Hall" s. s"White Hall". e. fifty perches to the beginning laid off to contain 59 a. of land, more or less, land whihc the said Isaac Jump agreed to sell unto a certain Thomas Dawson, father of said Asa Dawson, but only professed His Bond for the Conveyance of same to the said Thomas Dawson, his heirs, & died without any further devise of the said land.

Hundreds Map: NW Fork Hundred in Sussex Co Del. & Mispillion Hundred in Kent Co Del. Marshyhope Branch flows s.s.w. from Mispillion (Forest) into extreme n.w. corner of Sussex County. "White Hall" in Mispillion 100, Kent Co Del. & "Marshyhope Bridge Tract" of Thomas & Ann Jump Dawson in NW Fork 100, Sussex Co. On modern map, look for Adamsville on border between two counties, formerly called Marsh Hope Bridge on 1868 D. G. Beers Map of Delaware. 

Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said Sophia Jump, Olive Jump & Mary Jump, and *Ann Dawson before the seating of these presents the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and discharge the said Asa Dawson, his heirs & assigns forever, by these presents hath conveyed & confirmed, and by these present doth grant & confirm unto the said Asa Dawson, his heirs & assigns forver, all the above described land & premises together with all & singular buildings improvements and appurtenances of & to the same belonging to have & to hold unto Asa Dawson, his heirs assigns forever, & against the said Sophia Jump, Olive Jump, Mary Jump, and Ann Dawson, their heirs, executors, administrators & all manner persons claim any right, title or claim on these presents in witness thereof they have hereunto set their hand fixed their seals the date above written.

Signed sealed & delivered in presence of Isaac Jones & John Jones. Sophia Jump (her mark), Olive Jump, Mary Jump, Ann Dawson. Know by all men presents that we the within named Sophia Jump, Olive Jump, Mary Jump, & Ann Dawson do hereby make, ordain, constitute & appoint Mr. Thomas White & Stephen Lewis Esq. of the county of Kent on the Delaware or either of them, our true lawful attorneys for and in our names & stead to ackn. within Indenture with the lands & premises therein specified in Open Court according to Law. Witnesses our hand & seals November 1792.

Be it remembered that Isaac Jones came into the Court of Common Pleas held at Dover for the said county of Kent on 11 Dec 1793 and there made oath that he saw Sophia Jump, Olive Jump, Mary Jump, and Ann Dawosn sign this deed for uses & purposes mentioned, and he saw John Jones subscribe his name as witness, and he himself subscribed his own name & the name as one other witness whereupon came Thomas White Esq. into same Court by virtue of the power & authority unto him given, ackn. the said deed.
